The night we got there we just went for drinks to catch up and spend time with friends.
On NYE day the 4 of us toured around KL a bit by walking to Petronas Towers and KL Central station area. We managed to find bubble tea for Meghna too. A walk at Tasik Perdana park proved much longer as it was quite difficult to get there on foot! Alas Carrielee and I guided Xavier and Meghna to the gardens.
We started NYE with some drinks at 7PM at
Whiskey Bar and then continued with a couple of bottles of wine and
tandoori chicken take oout before finally getting to Shamza and Mohsin's
place for NYE dinner. The rendang that she cooked was amazing and spicy!
We watched fireworks from the rooftop of our building and it was quite a
display. There were atleast 7 independent firework displays and we had an
amazing view of all of them. We then headed out to drink and celebrate
2014 at a few bars in the area. Finally ended up at a local eatery at 4AM
for dosas and chai. I inevitable passed out!
New Year's day was spent recovering from the previous night, a quick meal
at a cafe and then off to Singapore to end our journey. We stayed the
night in Singapore with Rishab and Shweta and then flew the next morning.
Meghna flew back to Delhi to spend one more day with family and then fly
to Ottawa via Newark. I flew to Ottawa via Beijing and Vancouver. I also
spent a couple of hours with my dad in Vancouver....
